Roselle is situated at 15 Km from the Poderone. It's an important Etruscian and Roman archeological site. There is the biggest Etruscian amphitheater, Roman buildings, imperial forum and a villa with a mosaic floor. Interesting, worth a detour. The amphitheatre. Go to the middle of the amphitheatre and speak there with a loud voice...
The poderone is situated in the Maremma, a region which has conserved its natural beauty intact.
Like many old farms in the area, our home is situated at the top of a hill from where one can enjoy the splendid views of the village of Campagnatico, an historical and picturesque medieval castle, which was even mentioned by Dante in his works.
The view extends to Monte Amiata, while from the other side the view opens out to the fertile valley of the Ombrone river.
The forest, valleys and hills of the area offer a perfect environment for hiking, biking and horseriding.
For those who love the sea, the beautiful beaches of the Maremmancoast, such as Castiglione della Pescaia, Marina di Alberese, are all within driving distance.
